All the funds of The ISAB Application for the academic year 2025-2026 have been granted. The applications for the academic year 2026-2027 will be available on the International Student Portal (intl.odu.edu) starting July 1, 2026. You can find the application under 4) Request Portal after logging into the portal using Login with Campus ID (MIDAS Credentials).
ISAB Scholarships grants for the 25/26 academic year have been granted.
We will begin accepting applications for 26/27 academic year on July 1, 2026.
Application review for the 26/27 academic year will begin on August 31, 2026.
The Details
The purpose of the International Student Advisor Board (ISAB) Scholarship is to assist non-immigrant students at 精东 with expenses for educational and development opportunities outside regular coursework.
In partnership with the ISAB, the VISA office will give 25 students per academic year grants of up to $1000. Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis until the funds are depleted.
Scholarships are available for any activities that begin after the first day of the academic year.
Completed applications must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the start of the activity. Late applications and incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
If you have an outstanding balance, please note that the scholarship will go towards your remaining balance. Make sure to sign up to the e-refund, otherwise the scholarship check will be mailed to your permanent address.
Remember that upon getting an approval email the applicants should complete ISAB Scholarship Agreements and Responsibilities Form and later after their conference/activity has been completed they will be sent Post Completion Assessment Form. The applicants who have demonstrated great responsibility and made the application review and follow-up process smoother will be awarded a Certificate from the 精东 VISA office.
Student Eligibility Requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a degree seeking student at 精东
- Valid non-immigrant visa status (ex. F-1, J-1, H-4, NATO)
- Completed at least 1 semester at 精东
- Completed all ESL coursework
- Good academic standing (GPA of 3.0 for Graduate Students, 2.0 for Undergraduate Students)
- Good disciplinary standing

Non-degree Non-credit Course Offered Outside 精东 (i.e. Research Methods Seminar, Leadership Training, etc.)

- Please note: We cannot pay apartment rental or other housing costs for an unpaid internship
Non-Degree course offered outside 精东:

Research Expenses:
- Copy of IRB Approval
- Documentation of the estimated cost (ex. Receipt, detailed cost worksheet, or links to specific items you will purchase)
- Explanation of the purpose of the research and why the student is required to pay the expenses
- Acknowledgement that the research is not part of a paid research assistantship
Please note: We cannot pay apartment rental or other housing costs for researchers. We cannot pay for monetary incentives for research participants.
